Supastition’s Note:
This is one of my personal favorite projects to date. I wrote, produced, and recorded every track on this one. I even designed the artwork for it. Right before I was scheduled to release it, my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. I didn’t care about anything except for making sure she was okay at that time. My wife reminded me to not stop doing what I loved because life is too short. The feel of the album is very soulful and introspective with a few hard-hitting songs to even it out. I asked my good friend Blueprint to sequence the songs in order because I was too stressed. I dropped this EP and my supporters showed LOVE! I ordered a few hundred CDs and they sold out within 48 hours. Plus, my wife beat cancer. God is good!

Favorite tracks: Solitaire, Killing Time, Black Cloud, Someday Soon

10. Changing Of The Gods ft Soundsci

Supastition’s Note:
I was kind of stagnant at this time and trying to find my groove again with recording. I got invited by Blueprint to accompany him on a 60+ city tour throughout the U.S. Since I hadn’t dropped music in a few years, I recorded songs for this album in a few short months so that I could have something to sell while touring. This is the first album that I got to work with Praise (the other ½ of Speaker Bullies) after a recommendation from our mutual friend, Praverb. I respectfully hadn’t felt this inspired about anyone’s production since the days of Chain Letters. I love every song on this album. It’s soulful boom bap sh*t! One of the biggest memories was releasing it online to only a few sales but selling a crazy amount every night of the tour. The response at shows was so good that I had to reorder more CDs while on tour. It showed me that there is no better promotion than being in front of people performing every night.

Favorite tracks: Flawless, Know My Worth, Black Bodies, End of Forever, Song for the Mrs

Honest Living (2014)

2. Honest Living
3. Crazy! Interlude
4. Two Weeks Notice
5. Uncle Ray Interlude
6. Eardrum
7. Nothing Like It
8. Good As Gone

Supastition’s Note:
Man, what can I say? This was one of the best projects that the world will never get see released again. From beginning to end, the rhymes and production were flawless. The concept was about my struggles of trying to balance my work life and a music career to make an honest living. I had just relocated from Charlotte to Atlanta in search of a better opportunity for my family. Unfortunately, after a disagreement with the producer over money, I chose to pull the plug on it and remove it from all streaming services. I severed all ties with the producer and refuse to be associated with him again. Nonetheless, it was an incredible project that some of you may still have a copy of.

Supastition’s Note:
After walking away from the music business due to dealing with severe depression and family problems, I overcame my depression and made a lot of personal changes. I didn’t try to write a song for almost two years straight. One day, I started having the feeling to write again. I specifically reached out to my friends/producers The Mighty DR and Veterano because they had been there for me during my darkest times. They encouraged me to get back to recording and I decided go back to the basics (like writing on a blackboard). The Blackboard came from those sessions. It’s dusty and dirty and the vocals were recorded muddy on purpose. I dropped the single ‘Yada Yada’ and my true supporters welcomed me back with open arms. The rest thought that me leaving was all a publicity stunt to begin with… gotta love the internet, man! lol

Favorite tracks: Indestructible, Best Worst Day, Yada Yada, Perfect World, Outcome

Supastition’s Note:
This was a weird time for me. I had released albums under Supastition but saw minimal success from it. I had always wanted to do an album using my real name as an alias. My plan was to revert back to recording as Supastition when it was done. During this time, I was offered the biggest record deal I had ever had under the name Kam Moye. Unfortunately, the label and distributor wanted to use both names in order to market the album better. It was kind of a PR nightmare and the powers that be also wanted to A&R the direction of the album. I had videos being played on MTV and other stations and I dreaded every minute of it. I never wanted to be famous… I just wanted to be dope. I was broke and heavily depressed around this time and also I remember getting evicted from my apartment on the day the album dropped. I tried to make more positive and uplifting to hide what I really going through in my personal life. My energy was off and I think my longtime listeners could tell something was missing. Although it’s a good album (the production was dope too), I had mentally checked out and I was ready to quit music forever (or so I thought). Shortly after its release, I woke to find a blog giving my entire catalog away with a free download. I called a friend and asked for help finding a job and responded, “but… you’re Supastition.” At that very moment, I decided to walk away from music. That decision probably saved my life and my family.

Favorite tracks: Splitting Image, Hello Karma, Let’s Be Honest, Nobody’s Fool, Forever Fresh

Self-Centered (2008)

1. Where & Why
2. Welcome To My Life
3. Change Of Heart
4. Reach One
5. Around The World ft. DJ Wreckineyez
6. Black Enough?
7. Give It Up
8. Self-Centered

Produced by The Mighty DR, Croup, M-phazes, Eric G, and Sir Veterano

Supastition’s Note:
I had grown tired of recording as Supastition and I felt pigeonholed into making the same type of music. After a car accident, I saw my life flash before me and it made me reevaluate the music that I had put out into the world. I wanted to create a project where I could shed the angry and aggressive subject matter and do something more soulful and uplifting. My alias would be my government name (Kam Moye) which I thought would be clever (although, it later became one of my biggest regrets). I dropped it on my birthday (June 17th) to celebrate the rebirth of my next chapter. Honestly, this is still one of my favorite projects to date and it is near and dear to my heart. It felt amazing to record and start with a clean slate. The subject matter and production felt perfect. I never thought I’d get offered another record deal from it but I somehow ended up recording a full album afterward. Self-Centered is one of my most cohesive projects as a solo artist but it got overshadowed by the name change.

Favorite tracks: Welcome To My Life, Change of Heart, Reach One, Black Enough?

Leave of Absence (2008)

1. Leave of Absence
2. Bad Blood
3. New Me
4. Word Has It
5. Worst Enemy
6. Wrong
7. Evil Money
8. Thankful ft. Kil Ripkin
9. It's All Over ft. Torae, Dan Johns & Finale

Produced by Marco Polo, Khrysis, M-phazes, The Mighty DR, Eric G, and Johnny Madwreck

Supastition’s Note:
If I could use an analogy for this EP, it would be like when Snoop Left Death Row Records for No Limit Records. I decided not to do another album with Soulspazm and started over. After using up all of my favors with The Deadline and Chain Letters, I had no budget or money to pay producers. M-phazes and !llmind had moved on to more lucrative opportunities and I was back at square one trying to figure out who would produce for me going forward. I was working a lot with my good friend The Mighty DR and recording with Madwreck a lot. This was the first official project that I had released on my own label (called Reform School Music at the time) and with help from Domination Recordings. There were some solid songs on this project. I also dropped two projects in 2008 so it was a busy year.

Favorite tracks: New Me, Word Has It, Wrong

16. Always ft Can'Tell
17. Soul Control (solo version)

Produced by M-phazes, !llmind, Jake One, Nicolay, and Madwreck.

Supastition’s note:
As a recording artist, we always have that one album that we have always wanted to record since we started. Chain Letters was that album for me! I had access to some of the best production with M-phazes, !llmind, Jake One, Nicolay, and Madwreck. In my opinion, this is what my first album should’ve sounded like. The NC hip hop scene had started to bubble and the timing seemed to be right. This album took me around the world (13 countries) and garnered a lot of attention and critical acclaim. Unfortunately, the distributor went out of business about a week or two after it was released so the sales were lackluster. There were months that went by where nobody knew what was being sold, shipped, or ordered. It felt like birthing the perfect child only to watch the doctor misplace your baby somewhere in the hospital. All bullsh*t aside, this is my defining album as Supastition.

Favorite tracks: Don’t Stop, Split Decisions, Soul Control, Hate My Face, A Baby Story

The Deadline (2004)

9. Step It Up
10. Adrenaline

Produced by M-phazes, !llmind, Dela, moO, Croup, and Madwreck

Supastition’s Note:
Shortly after I signed my licensing deal with Soulspazm Records, we were scrambling to put songs together for Chain Letters. I had just released ‘The Williams’ with Nicolay and the buzz was starting. Since I couldn’t make the deadline to finish Chain Letters in time, Soulspazm asked me to compile a few tracks to release at… the deadline. That’s why it was titled that way. I never looked at it as a ‘true’ project but it became a fan-favorite and some argue that it is my best work to date. The production was top-notch from M-phazes, !llmind, and others. Fountain of Youth remains one of my biggest songs to this day.

Favorite tracks: Boombox, Fountain of Youth, Soul Searching, Step It Up

Supastition’s Note:
This was my first official album as Supastition. It’s my first born and I still stand by it. From an artist’s standpoint, this is like an album full of demos that saw the light of day. There was so much that went right but there was more that went wrong. My friends and I produced this album with no money and using 4 different studios. Instead of typing it out, I would encourage you to watch the
‘Tough Luck’ mini-documentary on YouTube that contains the full album breakdown.

Favorite tracks: Da Waiting Period, Best of Life, Crown Me, Hip Hop vs Life
